I would recommend curtain fabric or something with a similar weight to make it more robust for carrying your items. Lining it with a cotton fabric provides a nice, neat finish to the inside of the bag and hides away all the seams.
Great for the novice sewer, as you only have to use one stitch type on the machine and it is a good introductory piece to practice your sewing skills
